Another bride, another groom… so, you are packing for your honeymoon and you are really not sure what you want to take. Of course, you are going to take at least a few outfits for out and about, even if you never make it out of the room. You are also going to want some special intimate apparel, even if you have been a couple for a long, long time and he has already seen the “show”. After all, intimate apparel is all about packaging and marketing- taking what you have and what is already known and making it seem new and exciting in some way.
During your bridal shower or bachelorette party, you were likely given several different types of intimate apparel, not only the tacky, gag gift (so named because you tend to gag when you see it) but the beautiful, lacy and frilly stuff that you can’t help but ooh and aah over. This is the intimate apparel that you need to pack with you for your trip.
Intimate apparel comes in various types and colors, with the typical color for honeymoon being white or light pastel colors. Looking at a peignoir set is a good start. A peignoir is a negligee with a thin wrapper type robe that matches it. Choose silky or satiny materials in whatever color you would like. Some people are not happy with neutrals or pastel colors and would prefer jewel tones or even black, which can also be a wonderful look for your intimate apparel.
Of course, if you are not a nightgown or negligee wearer by nature, you might like something that is a little shorter, for instance a baby doll set or even a camisole and pants set. Again, these can be found in a number of colors and material choices, including light cotton which are perfect for hotter climates. If you are taking a honeymoon trip to a colder area of the world, your intimate apparel should be a little more substantial so that the first impression that you make is not one of you shivering and shaking in the doorway.
Your personal taste as well as the tastes of your new spouse should be the first thing you consider when you are looking at the intimate apparel that you choose for your trip. Regardless of the length of the trip or the destination, make sure that you have at least a few pieces of intimate apparel so that you can have variety and appeal.
